Use Google to find Stock info:

Type stocks: and then the ticker symbol. It'll pull info from 5 personal finance websites.

Use Google as a Telephone Book:

Looking for a business phonebook listing? Try this at Google:
1- In the search box, type in   bphonebook:  (Get it? "b" phonebook for business? Also, don't forget the colon : symbol)
2- then put what you're looking for. For example, to find the phone number of "The Reader's Corner" in Raleigh, NC, your entry would look like this...  bphonebook: the reader's corner, raleigh, nc 

Looking for a person? It would be rphonebook: john doe, raleigh, nc  (Get it: "r" phonebook for residence?)

To search the entire Google phonebook, use phonebook:

Want to search Google, but don't have access to a web browser? But you have access to email?

Do this. Send an email to: google@capeclear.com  On the subject line of the email message that you send, type the term(s) that you want to search for on Google. You'll get a return email with the top 10 matches on your search terms. Try it. Send an email message to google@capeclear.com and put in the subject line of your email the word "hamburger" (but don't put in the quotation marks). Wait a minute or two. Then check your email.

Set your Google Preferences

Go to Google and click on the "Preferences" link that is to the right of the search box. You'll go to the Preferences page (duh...) and there you can tell Google to only return pages back to you that are written in English (unless you really can read Finnish....). You can put on filters to try to keep the search results cleaner (less X-rated). You can increase the number of results per page, so you have less page hopping. (I set mine to 100). And you can tell it to open the result that you click on in a new window, keeping your searching browser window intact. All of these are personal preferences, and when you set them, Google puts a cookie on your computer to remember them for you. So if you clean out your cookies, you'll need to go reset them again.
